Located in the heart of Ashtabula Harbor's Historic Bridge Street, Rennick Meat Market is influenced by its history as a butcher shop that was run by TJ Rennick in the late 1800s - early 1900s. The owner, Jennifer Pociask is embracing the historical décor, having restored as much as possible, to revive the ghosts of the building's past.

Halcyon denotes a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful and this is the type of ambiance we try to present in our establishment.
When we decided to open a bar and restaurant, we wanted to incorporate things we loved about bars we have been to on our world travels. We especially wanted to focus on friendly service as well as premium American fair at the lowest possible prices. Halcyon has been open since 2017 and we continue to invest in the business and upgrades to our historical building. In the end we hope our efforts contribute to better the overall economy and community.
In 1952, Gerri and the late Lawrence Bruno DeGeorge had a dream- opening the finest restaurant in Ashtabula county, serving the best quality food available in a clean and friendly atmosphere. Complementing Gerri’s homemade cooking is the professional expertise that the DeGeorge’s son David acquired at the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park, New York- one of the two finest culinary art colleges in the world- adding his own special touch to his recipes for over 40 years.

Through consultation with The Cleveland Clinic, The Ashtabula County Medical Center and The American Heart Association, we have implemented a series of guidelines for our food preparation.
All of our foods are prepared with all-vegetable, no cholesterol cooking oils and margarines. We fry fat-free. We add very little salt to our cooking; you add the salt you prefer. Our gravies and sauces are strictly controlled to reduce as much fat and salt as we can. Most of our seafood, chicken or meat dishes can be broiled for you. We broil with no-cholesterol margarine.
